Exmark mower was built to carry a lot of abuse that comes with them for eight hours a day and last up to seven days per week used. Although these mowers are built with the most stringent standards, it is very important to maintain them properly. A poorly maintained mower much faster than one, not investigated with great care. Here are some things to watch out for:
Blade spindle bearing - Make sure there is no movement when you wiggle the wheel up and down. Any movement and you need to replace the cutter spindle.
Belts - Check for cracks, crevices and small rubber missing. These are all signs that the belt is in good condition and replaced.
Hydro Pumps - If the deal seems too good to be true it probably is bad or leaking hydraulic pumps. These can be veryexpensive to repair or replace. These small losses ALWAYS annoying pump failure.
Engine - The engine should still be running at a constant speed of sound and be smooth. Sudden changes in engine speed could mean problems, but are probably due to engine needs some minor tweaks, new spark plugs or air filter clean.
Mature - probably you will notice some tire rubber plugs, but I worry about it. Just make sure there are no thorns in the side walls of the tires. EvenLook for large bubbles on the inside of the side walls. The tires on older Exmark bubbles tend to deform the tire and the mower was very bumpy and uncomfortable to use form.
